We’re buzzing with excitement to introduce a brand-new opportunity for our returning guests in 2025 — our DunnyBees Honey Extraction Sessions.
Designed exclusively for those who have already taken part in our Bee Experience Sessions, these intimate, hands-on workshops allow you to reconnect with the bees and complete the cycle — by extracting your very own honey, straight into your own jar.
Taking place on select dates during the late spring into early autumn, these sessions offer a rare and personal insight into the final and most rewarding stage of beekeeping.
After months of busy bee activity and flower-foraging, it’s finally time to savour the golden reward of the hive — but with one very important principle at the heart of it all: our bees come first.
We believe in truly sustainable beekeeping, which means working in harmony with the natural rhythms of the hive. Honey is not just a sweet treat — it’s the bees' vital winter food source. That’s why our Extraction Sessions are carefully timed to occur only when the colony has produced enough surplus honey to share.
We monitor each hive closely and only invite guests to harvest when we’re confident the bees will have more than enough stores to thrive through the colder months. Your jar is a gift — not a sacrifice — and part of our ongoing commitment to ethical, responsible beekeeping.
Each session includes: A guided honey extraction process. A beautifully labelled DunnyBees jar filled with your personally extracted honey. Educational insights into how honey is stored, capped, and preserved within the hive. Q&A time with our experienced beekeeper. Spaces are strictly limited to ensure every guest has meaningful hands-on time and to respect the limited availability of surplus honey.
These sessions are a celebration of your journey with DunnyBees— from your first hive visit to the satisfying moment of sealing your own jar of raw, unfiltered, local honey.
Whether you’re giving your jar as a heartfelt gift or keeping it as a sweet memory of your time with DunnyBees, this is a once-a-year experience rooted in nature, connection, and care.
