April 2026
During April we dedicate our time to looking after our colonies to ensure our bees have the best environment, resource and opportunity to thrive.
We are happy to share that all our colonies made it through the winter period 2025/26 and are indeed thriving! So much so, that we have been able to create a number of NUCs, meaning DunnyBees now have 32 colonies within our apairies.
Throughout April, our time is spent checking the health of the hives, checking for brood, spotting any queen cells for signs of swarming and much much more.
We've also discovered that our bees DO NOT like blue gloves - Dunny The Beekeeper was stung twice! Safe to say he will be back to wearing the orange gloves that the ladies prefer.
This month also marks the launch of our fantastic Hive Sponsors for 2026. Without their support, we wouldn't be able to continue to grow and continue our work with the bees - Thankyou. If you or your organisation would like to sponsor one of our hives or our new apitherapy pod, please click here for further details.

March 2026
From March onwards, the DunnyBees team is looking forward to an exciting and action-packed period as the season gathers momentum. With spring well underway, we will be focused on hive inspections, colony expansion, and supporting the health and growth of our bees.
Alongside this, there will be a variety of events, community engagements, and new product initiatives, including the rollout of our Apitherapy Pod and natural skincare range.
We are also continuing to grow our Hive Sponsorship scheme, building strong connections with supporters and the wider community.
The coming months promise a blend of hands-on apiary work, innovation, and collaboration, keeping DunnyBees buzzing with activity and opportunities.

February 2026
We had a fantastic time attending the Beekeeping Show 2026 this weekend, gaining inspiration, expert insight, and exploring the latest innovations in beekeeping.
We were delighted to secure some excellent bargains on high-quality frames, foundations, hive tools and protective equipment at show-only prices. It was also a pleasure to make new friends within the community and catch up with familiar faces, making the weekend both productive and memorable for the team.
Most exciting of all, we purchased and are now launching our new Apitherapy Pod — a wonderful addition to the DunnyBees offering.
Alongside this, we are proud to introduce our new natural skincare range, handcrafted using beeswax, essential oils, propolis and honey, bringing the benefits of the hive into everyday self-care.

January 2026
January was a busy and hands-on month for the DunnyBees team, focused on essential DIY projects and hive maintenance. We spent time hefting all hives, both at our HQ apiary and outlying sites, to check stores and ensure our colonies were healthy and thriving.
Feeding the bees was a top priority to prevent starvation during the colder months, and it was incredibly rewarding to see that all 20+ colonies successfully survived the winter as a result.
Alongside these vital tasks, we made improvements to equipment, repaired and prepared frames, and generally got the apiaries in tip-top shape for the year ahead.
January also marked the launch of our 2026 Hive Sponsorship scheme, which has been met with fantastic support. We secured sponsorship from 20 organisations, helping to sustain our hives and initiatives, and the scheme continues to generate interest with the possibility of even more sponsors coming on board.
A productive month of careful care, community engagement, and exciting new opportunities for the DunnyBees team.
