At DunnyBees, we believe beekeeping is about more than honey. It’s about community, sustainability, and supporting future generations of beekeepers. That’s why we are proud to announce our partnership with Bees Abroad (UK Registered Charity No. 1108464) through their inspiring Hive Twinning Programme.

Supporting the Next Generation of Beekeepers

Our twinned hive will support the Negororera Young Beekeepers, a youth group based in two rural villages in Rwanda. These dedicated young people are currently training in sustainable beekeeping practices so they can continue the craft locally and promote it for generations to come.

Through this initiative, the group will gain practical skills in hive management, honey production, and environmental stewardship. Beekeeping offers them not only a livelihood opportunity but also a way to support their communities through pollination, biodiversity, and local enterprise.

A New Project Taking Flight

The Rwanda project has recently been approved and will officially begin in the coming months. As training begins, DunnyBees will receive updates and photos from the field, allowing us to follow the journey of the Negororera Young Beekeepers as they develop their skills and build their beekeeping enterprise.

We’re incredibly excited to welcome this group into the Hive Twinning family and to play a small part in helping them grow their knowledge and confidence.

Creating Lasting Change Through Beekeeping

The work of Bees Abroad demonstrates how sustainable beekeeping can empower communities across Africa. By sharing knowledge, resources, and training, they help communities create long-term economic and environmental benefits.

From improved food security through pollination to the production of honey and beeswax products, beekeeping provides sustainable opportunities that support both people and the planet.

A Shared Vision

This partnership reflects the shared values between DunnyBees and Bees Abroad — supporting ethical beekeeping, empowering communities, and protecting the environment.

We look forward to sharing regular updates about the Negororera Young Beekeepers as their training begins and their hives become established.
