We have been busy rendering down old wax comb from our hives, it was certainly an eye opener how much effort is put into cleaning up the wax.
We have to melt and filter the dirty wax a number of times to get this as clean as possible, then pour this in to our moulds.
We are happy with our first attept at this and also making our 100% natural beeswax candles, I am sure this will improve over time.
The smell is amazing, you can smell the wax and honey.
It takes the bees six times longer to build wax than make honey, this is such a valuable bi-product.
